Bass Guitars

The core range.

Jim Fleeting bass

Seax.

The Seax bass is a single cutaway, through neck bass, with a top horn inspired by the medievalsword of the same name. A single cut with extended upper bout gives the neck extra stability, so is great for multiple strings.  It's available in both standard and offset body shape. The Seax bass is fully customisable in electronics, headstock, wood choices etc. My preference for this bass is to really push the boundary or range, and really load it up with strings.

Colne bass

Colne.

The Colne bass, with it's body slightly larger and more symetrical than the other basses in the range, is perfect for those who like the feel of a traditional bass, but still want the beauty, comfort and versatility of a boutique instrument. I love this bass with some big switchable pickups.  It's size means it suits a couple of big quad-coil soap bars and onboard mission control for when versatility is key.

stour bass

stour.

The Stour bass is a single cutaway, through neck bass. A single cut with extended upper bout gives the neck extra stability, so is a great for extended range basses.  It's elegantly carved offset body fits your body beautifully, and as such keeps the bass comfortable and light, even with 7+ strings. The Seax bass is fully customisable. This model really keeps the neck stable, so I like to go for a lot of strings, but I also really like it as a 4 string fretless.

starship.

Named after Michael’s platinum selling hit “You are my Starship”, the bass has a swept forward look and a small pointy headstock, as if it is moving forwards.  The dot markers all have moons in orbit around them, and the 12th fret inlay is a silhouette of a ’50s style starship. All Starship Basses are custom made, and can be altered to your own specs, including multiple strings, different woods and electronics etc.

Stort Bass

Stort.

The Start bass is the original JFG bass. A small and comfortable body, it maintains a great balance by having the top horn reach all the way to the 12th fret. It's light and effortless to play, and looks as good in four strings as it does as an extended range instrument. The Stort bass is fully customisable in neck joint, electronics, headstock, wood choices etc, alike all other models i build.
